New Swan Shakespeare Festival is hosted and produced in partnership with the University of California, Irvine, the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, and the Department of Drama.

New Swan Theater’s features include:

  • A 16-ton moveable space with flexible staging options.

  • Five unique circular seating areas:

    • King James’ Row   (Center floor chair)
    • Queen Elizabeth’s Row  (Front row mezzanine)
    • Lord Chamberlain’s Row  (Second row mezzanine)
    • The Heavens  (Balcony)
    • The Groundlings  (On the floor half-chairs)
  • Reinvented Elizabethan theater, constructed from recycled materials, with contemporary architectural aesthetics.

  • Every seat close to the action.

The New Swan Theater is located at Gateway Commons, next to Aldrich Park and Langson Library, at the University of California, Irvine.
